Planning & Zoning

The Garfield County Planning Department is responsible for guiding the growth and development of Garfield County in a way that promotes the public health, safety, and general welfare. The primary duties and responsibilities include zoning and land use planning, development review, long-range planning, environmental and sustainability planning, community engagement, transportation planning, historic preservation, and issuance of permits and licenses.

The Garfield County Planning Commission holds regular meetings in the Garfield County Courthouse, 55 South Main, Panguitch, UT 84759 on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, unless otherwise noticed and advertised.

Economic Development

The Garfield County Economic Development Office exists to encourage and facilitate economic growth in Garfield County. The primary duties and responsibilities include business attraction and retention, workforce development, infrastructure development, policy development, planning and research, and grant writing and management.
