Grant Applications
The Garfield County Office of Tourism offers two grant programs to help municipalities and nonprofit organizations in Garfield County with events that draw visitors to the area and marketing for specific community led initiatives.
Event applications for 2025 are due, Friday, December 6, 2024. Oral interviews for funding will be held January 14, 2025.
Marketing grant applications are due, Friday, December 20, 2024. Oral interviews are scheduled for February 4, 2025.
Please note: If you are a grant recipient that we have changed our logo and you must used the new logo on all marketing materials.
 
 
HB 456 Tourism Tax
During the most recent legislative session, HB 456: Transient Room Tax Amendments was passed. This bill modified how Transient Room Tax revenue can be used and increased the statewide TRT rate by 0.75%, effective July 1. In addition to this increase, counties have the option to raise their local Transient Room Tax by an additional 0.25%, effective October 1. Below are the tax rates and a breakdown of those taxes that a hotel will be required to charge (if the ordinance passes at the county commission meeting).

Garfield County provides access to nearly a dozen national/state parks and forest areas. Scenic Byway 12 – Utah’s All-American Road, which meanders through the county, has been rated as one of the country’s most beautiful highways.
The area’s charming towns offer eclectic shops, specialty restaurants and year-round festivals and events.
