Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan
The Five County Association of Governments is updating an existing Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan, which seeks to understand community risks and vulnerabilities to hazards including problem soils, radon gas, earthquakes, landslides, wildfire, severe weather, drought, and flooding. The plan allows communities to establish relevant mitigation actions that directly address these hazards impact on the community to reduce risk to the residents, property, economy, and natural environment.
Garfield County is participating in this planning effort to develop a mitigation strategy. We are interested in receiving your input. Please review the current plan and share your comments, concerns, or experiences with natural hazards in the community by visiting fema.gov.
